The newish A394 Helston bypass, with no cycling facilities

The newish A394 Helston bypass, with no cycling facilities

This needs to be opened up for cycling as well as pedestrians.

The Duchy Hospital, Truro - not NHS, but the same total lack of interest in cycle parking.

No cycle parking at Mullion Health Centre - typical for the NHS

A new roundabout for a big new Tesco supermarket, but nothing has been done for cycling apart from a bit of white paint.

There's a need for cycle parking in the centre of Helston - the museum would be as good a site as any.

Not a real dead end, and the one-way section could easily be two-way for cycling.

There is NO proper cycle parking anywhere near the main entry to the Royal Cornwall Hospital. Why does the NHS find this so diificult?

The End of Route sign applies only to the ramp to the trading estate - and why, anyway?

Start of Bramble Lane, Truro - a wasted resource

No connection to Bramble Lane

Clearly marked as a footpath only, who knows why cycles aren't welcome?

Typical car-dominated housing development, despite being five minutes by bike from the centre of Truro

The lower route to Truro station turns right here, but you wouldn't know it.

Acres of car parking at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, and no sign of any cycle parking. Why does the NHS find this so diificult?

The only cycle parking I saw at the Royal Cornwall Hospital - and it's useless!

Mevagissey harbour, where driving is allowed but cycling is not - though that surely wouldn't stand up in a court of law.

At last the roadworks (with Cyclists Dismount and go somewhere unspecified signs) on the A30 have finished and there's a new rail/bus interchange - cyclists are told to dismount to cross to the station, and there's no indication at all that ... [more]

There's a Pushchair Park on St Michael's Mount but no cycle parking

A new sign (in the distance) marking out Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant - but no real cycle parking.

Some mistake - the road on the left leads to St Martin, Manaccan and Helford, the road to the right is just a loop that rejoins it in a few hundred metres. But the pub/restaurant sign is correct.

'use bike racks provided'... I couldn't see any.

The Pedestrian Zone sign seems bizarre, but the road to the right would be traffic-free if the rising bollards were working.

Space has been found to rebuild the A39/A392/B3292 roundabout with two traffic lanes, and no cycle facilities - it was hostile enough before, but it's worse now.

Cycle parking needed in Bells Court for the excellent Beerwolf pub.

Lots of space in front of the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, but no sign of cycle parking.

Lots of car parking at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, but no sign of cycle parking.

Motorcycle parking near the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, but no sign of cycle parking.

Unenforceable nonsense in Mevagissey - cars are allowed to reach the parking, but cycling isn't allowed?

Barriers on cut-through in Newquay

Amazing - the only access to the shared-use footway at the A30 roundabout is through McDonald's. I wonder who funded it?

The short and pretty pointless stretch of shared-use footway by the A30 roundabout leads only to McDonald's! Not even a link to take cyclists off the old A30 here. I wonder who paid for this?

No sign of cycle parking at the National Trust's Cotehele House

The missing link in the Penzance promenade route - a ramp is needed to replace the steps at the right.

Cyclists on NCN route 3 should turn left here. No dropped kerb.

The shared-use path funded by Sainsbury goes as far as the entry to the new Sainsbury supermarket but no further - what would it have cost to extend it?

Wheelbender parking at the otherwise excellent Penlee House gallery in Penzance

There's room for a few cycle stands under the access ramp to the new Newlyn Filmhouse.

You can drive but not cycle? Absurd.

An off-road route could easiy be provided for NCN route 3 through the park rather than on the road.

For some reason NCN route 3 doesn't use this obvious traffic-free route but is routed via the streets to the left.north.

Bridleway - supposedly

Illegal cyclist on the Cornish coastal footpath

This could provide decent access to the footbridge and Wadebridge

This could provide decent access to the footbridge and Wadebridge

If the speed ramp was aligned with the track this might provide decent access to the footbridge and Wadebridge

This should be the start of a riverside cycle route to the footbridge and Wadebridge

Poor access to the footbridge, Wadebridge - the only alternative to the road bridge

Constrained access to the footbridge, Wadebridge

No Cycling sign in a car park on what should be the obvious link to a riverside extension of NCN route 32 (the Camel Trail)

No Cycling on a car park access road? Ridiculously negative attitude in Wadebridge, where this would be the obvious link to a riverside extension of the Camel Trail.

Sign for NCN route 32 (the Camel Trail) - it would be better to go straight ahead to a riverside route

On-road cycle lanes past the former Wadebridge station on the Camel Trail - it would be easy to provide a decent riverside route here.

Very poor start to the riverside path, Wadebridge - this should provide a link to the Camel Trail

Short asphalt section in Priory Park - this really should be improved to take cyclists off the A389

Access to Priory Park - this really should be improved to take cyclists off the A389

Pedestrian cut-through to the left, access to Priory Park to the right - this really should be improved to take cyclists off the A389

This should be improved as a proper cycle route

It'd be great to have direct access to the station here.

Plenty of car parking and no cycle facilities at Trevaskis Farm shop and restaurant (just north of NCN route 3)

Awful (ie nonexistent) crossing of the A30 Penzance relief road to this footpath.

New, utterly rubbish, cycle parking in Penzance

Why does British traffic engineering require so many negative 'End of Cycle Route' signs? This is wrong anyway, just before a toucan crossing and a cycle link to the right.

Narrow footway between two shared-use sections - is Cornwall Council tacitly suggesting people should cycle on this?

Flooded access to the coastal route east of Penzance.

Definitely not a joined-up route - a stepped bridge, very un-smart traffic lights (where you wait ages, then vehicles wait ages) then a barrier on the link to the north.

Poor cycle link

There's a gap leading on to the footway to the route, but the barrier should be removed.

The barrier indicates that this is not much of a cycle route.

Useful route into Helston town centre with less useful barriers

Alley parallel to pedestrianised shopping street in Penzance - needs some improvement.

Alley parallel to pedestrianised shopping street in Penzance - needs some improvement.

Both these dead ends are in fact handy through routes for cycling - route signs needed.

Steps on what could be a traffic-free section of NCN route 3.

Awkward patch on what could be NCN route 3 from Penzance to Newlyn.

Cornwall Council spent £200,000 on rebuilding this path after storm damage but it still isn't signed as part of NCN route 3.

Whoops - steps at the end of what should be a lovely traffic-free section of NCN3 along the promenade in Penzance.

New road widening and access to the promenade, Penzance - cyclists on NCN route 3 are apparently supposed to continue on the road.

Cycle parking obstructed by a motorbike and a car left in the turning area. (Of course a pedant might assume that cycle parking was banned too.)

There's decent motorbike parking at the Telegraph Museum, Porthcurno, but no decent cycle parking, despite being so close to NCN route 3.

Cycle parking is always at a premium at the Telegraph Museum, Porthcurno

There's no reason why cyclists shouldn't use the upper path from the Padstow war memorial - the lower path is far too busy with pedestrians though.

No cycle parking at the National Trust's Levant Mine

It would be good if this link to Padstow church and Link Road (NCN32) could be marked as a through route for cyclists.

No Cycling on this useful link to Port Isaac

Padstow loves the Camel Trail, but they don't much like cycling - cyclists are expected to walk through a car park to the Camel Trail, but is there any similar advice or restrictions for drivers? Of course not.

Padstow loves the Camel Trail, but they don't much like cycling - on the direct link to Padstow Cycle Hire

Padstow loves the Camel Trail, but they don't much like cycling - on the direct link to Padstow Cycle Hire

There's no reason why cyclists shouldn't use the upper path to the Padstow war memorial - the lower path is far too busy with pedestrians though.

It's really not necessary to ban bikes from this upper route to the Padstow war memorial viewpoint.

It's really not necessary to ban bikes from reaching the Padstow war memorial viewpoint.

NCN cycle route signs up a pedestrianised street? (in fact they refer to the road to the left)

Priory Park, Bodmin - this could be a very useful cut-through for cyclists

Surface cracking apart on this link to the Camel Trail (even though it's not on OpenCycleMap yet)

St Guron's Way sign missing from the post the the right.

Unsigned staggered crossing on St Guron's Way, Bodmin
